Ah, the birds...

It's that time of year!

Birds, birds, birds!

It's so hard to get any work done when I am constantly standing by the window, camera in hand, to take one more picture of some sweet bird.

And there are quite a few yet to arrive back - you can be sure when they do, you'll see them here!

Welcome Spring!

and welcome back birdies!

Easter Morning at Bethel

It was a grand and glorious Easter morning at Bethel!

He is risen!

He is risen indeed!

Following the first church service, the youth of Bethel served a wonderful breakfast.

Good food and good fellowship for a joyful morning!

Thanks to those in the kitchen who prepared and cleaned up...

Then the church once again filled to capacity for the second service of the morning!

The singing was grand...

and the warm fellowship was felt by all!

The choir sang beautifully.

There was also a nice men's chorus too.

Our daughter-in-law did a wonderful children's message.

She was so enthusiastic and the children just loved it!

Speaking of children.... here are four of our ten wonderful grandchildren.

A quick attempt at a picture of this family!

Another perfectly lovely EASTER day!

He is risen! He is risen indeed!

Easter Saturday

We were invited for breakfast at our youngest son's home - and following a tasty breakfast we were entertained by some sweet grandchildren hunting for some Easter candy.

It was a sweet morning.

Grandma day

Some little boys thought they should have a "grandma day."

Grandma agreed.

So we bundled up for spring and opened up the sandbox.

We celebrated the upcoming Easter weekend....

and colored some eggs.

We played in the playroom...

and kept our eyes on the wood ducks at the same time!

Another perfectly lovely ordinary day.

Table time

Tonight we enjoyed dinner together at a favorite restaurant and a time of refreshment afterwards at my husband's brother's home.

There are now three Berge brothers living in our town (along with our sister-in-law's sister and her husband) and we look forward to many fun evenings such as this!

We got out some hymnals and had a good time singing together! Can't wait until next time..

Home ownership

Apparently it is not at all clear who lives here.

In this wood duck house, that is.

Each morning we witness a number of pair of wood ducks lurking about this beautiful home.

Each seemingly protective or, at the very least, interested in being somewhat nearby.

Can you see Mrs. Wood duck on the top of the branch leaning towards the wood duck house?

We watched the movements of the ducks and had come to the conclusion that she was the homeowner and planning on heading back in to where we hoped her eggs were laid (or being laid). But instead, she suddenly turned an flew away instead of entering the house! And in a flash we realized what had happened... ANOTHER Mrs. W. Duck, who had gone unnoticed by us, suddenly up and flew right into the nest! We hope she is the rightful owner! . Now, if we could only come up with a way to label/identify the ducks to know who is who each morning...

In the trees...

Oh my, what a fun spring we have had watching the wood ducks!

Such a beautiful duck, too!

Here is Mr. Duck up close. Isn't he beautiful?

He posed this way and that, just for me, I think!
Well, maybe not, as he was keeping a sharp eye on his lady friend, Mrs. Wood Duck.

You see, she was in the tree, not far from him, most of the time.

But other things were also sighted in the trees.

Mr. Human Being was preparing a wood duck house in the hopes that Mr and Mrs W.Duck would find it to their liking.

Apparently, she did!

The proud new home owner looks out at the world.

Someone

Someone came to Grandma's.

Someone watched a movie with grandma. Someone's grandma made popcorn.
And someone beat Grandma at Uno!

And someone's Grandma loves her.

Beads and Bubbles

I have entered this photograph of our granddaughter Hannah enjoying a summer day running through the bubbles. It's called "Hannah celebrates summer." The contest is sponsored by creative memories and is on facebook. One can vote on facebook by clicking on the link below. The top 100 photographs, based solely on the number of votes they garner, will move on in the contest to being judged. I would love to have this photographed judged. The voting period is until Friday, April 15th and a person can vote once a day. If you are so inclined to vote for this picture, I would appreciate it! Thank you in advance! Each vote counts big as I believe I am just barely in the top group of 100. I could fall out of that group fast if other photographs pick up more votes.

While I don't anticipate winning the top prize (a trip to London the weekend of William and Kate's wedding!) I would be happy just to get into the top 100 and see what the judges think.

I'll type in this link and see if it works.

And for those you you have have been voting, thank you, thank you.

Horse lesson

Our granddaughter is taking horse riding lesson.

However, you can't just get on the horse and ride without doing some preliminary care.

A stool helps.

And cleaning the hooves is important too!

The horse and the rider both enjoy this grooming. Then it's into the training ring.
And finally, riding!

.

Just like life, you have to do things one step at a time.

The rewards are worth it.
