If you grew up in my husband's family, you would immediately know why this toothpick is on the back of this chair. It's time for some fun; time to see who can exhibit strength and balance... the goal is to pick this toothpick up by your mouth while not touching the ground.... perhaps the following pictures will explain it..
Get a sturdy chair. The person usually lays across the seat of the chair; one can hold anywhere on the chair for balance. You just can't touch the ground!
And, after you have gotten the toothpick in your mouth, you must return to the seat of the chair for it to be deemed a successful grab!
The fun of this game is that everything can give it a try. Here is our niece, who has grown up with this game so she is familiar with the technique!

Sometimes we would move the toothpick not so far around the back of the chair to make it slightly easier. I love the look of concentration here! This was her first introduction to the game.
Regardless of age, the competitive spirit remains. Here is hubby's oldest brother giving it a try; he has probably done this game for many years! And is successful too, of course.
Hubby gives it a go. It takes some strength to do this; I took pictures...
The fun thing about family time like this is that everyone is together and enjoying the activity; and even our youngest little one wanted her turn... so we laid the toothpick and her pacifier on the back of the chair...
and her daddy held her while she grabbed her pacifier with her mouth!
She was quite proud of her efforts! She has a future ahead of her in the toothpick game!
