Boxing day today!

No, the children are not boxing on boxing day... it's a day to "box" up your extras for the needy. For those of us with Canadian ties, it's a special holiday with roots in Great Britain.
Enough history - here's the current news - 8 grandchildren with their cute hats (Andrea had them made by some lady) ... all lined up on the couch in birth order. Quick! Take that picture!

Here are the youngest 4 - while Sean had his hat on...

Grandpa's little helper. He really wanted to be held to see what was cooking!

Oh WOW, big news today! The first lost tooth of the grandchildren - and today, this morning at breakfast with everyone around to say "yeah" and "wow" and "I can't believe it" - Where did the time go? Wasn't he just a little baby?

One tradition we started about 6 years ago was that each son and wife cook a meal during our days together over the holidays. It is quite fun and we love it when John & Sara, the gourmet chef's, prepare us dinner. After the children are all nestled and snug in their beds, we had cherished family time (ah, so quiet!) and delicious food.
We had pepper-crusted filet mignon with port cherry reduction, by the way.

GREAT photos! I love the hats. The idea of the couples making meals together is a great one! Sounds like you had an amazing dinner that particular night!
