Feeding the deer...

 Perhaps you may remember this from last year.... it is something that hubby designed and built to provide feed for the deer in our backyard..

 

 The idea was to open the top of the pvc tube and put in the deer feed and it would flow down into the trough.  So we did.  And we patiently waited all last winter for the deer...  (in the previous years we feed the deer on our front yard but we thought this would be better and we could watch them while sitting in our family room)... but for some reason we never did see any signs of the deer eating at the trough.  (Birds and sundy other little creatures enjoyed it though..)

 

 Until this year!  Hooray!  The other night we looked out and there was Mr. Deer... checking out the situation!

 

 He was really nosey too!  He had to get his nose all around the whole system to see just how much feed he could get, maybe?

 

And he had to share - something they are sometimes reluctant to do - there was a small group of 4 of them and we enjoyed watching them feed.  They don't mind the back light being on and as long as they don't see our motion in the window, they feel quite comfortable having a late night snack.  Works for me.
