Here they are - those little hands - right out in front ready for something...

How nice that time at Grandpa and Grandma's is something special.

I suppose having someone say "yes" .."sure" "okay" and "whatever you want" is

always a good day.

Who wouldn't want that?

So our oldest granddaughter had an afternoon and overnight visit.

No trucks, blocks or dinosaurs in sight.... instead beads, paints....

hearts and stars.....

Then time for a little thinking...

this great 100 piece puzzle was just perfect, challenging but not so hard that a person would give up... nope, not this gal...

almost done...

All done!

What's next, grandma??

How about a little fun with bread dough?

Heart-shaped waffles for supper

and yes, chokecherry syrup...

Wrapping up the evening with some popcorn and a movie.

After a good night's rest, home again.

Grandma day

Guess who got to spend the whole day BY HIMSELF at Grandma's??

This little 2 year old!!

What do you do at Grandma's?

First you have a snack..

Even during lunch she keeps taking pictures!!

It's just something about those blue eyes that keep her taking pictures, she says..

Then we build roads with grandma's blocks.

After some good book reading time, it's time for a good long nap.

Even grandma rested.

Just like promised, we baked some cookies.

We added chocolate chips to the batter..

and scooped the dough onto the cookie sheet!

After time for a little silly music...

the day was soon over...

but not until mommy and daddy and the rest of the family came for supper and a little "American Idol" viewing...

Sunday afternoons with the Vikings...

Today our oldest granddaughter turns SEVEN!

(I remember turning seven, do you?)

We are so happy she came into our lives!

I love fussing, baking, making things cute...

Dresses and Tiaras for a granddaughter's birthday party.

The view outside...

We are so fortunate to have a nice view of nature right outside our windows.

As you likely have noticed, I love the birds and photographing them. We have a perfect set-up for bird watching so that really makes it enjoyable.

Tonight we noticed, just at dusk, a lone deer making his way up our enbankment right outside our family room.

He posed for a quick picture and then went on...

.

He came around to the front of the house and paused at the road, as if to look both ways before crossing...

Then today a flock of cedar waxwings landed in the trees.
They are really a beautiful bird with the little yellow on the end of their tail feathers.
You can tell cedar waxwings are around when you see the "flitting" around of a flock of birds. It is most always them. They rarely are found alone. And they seem to prefer trees or bushes with some sort of berry.



Here are two of them. I had a hard time getting a decent picture of the group. The camera couldn't decide what the focus point was - branches or birds...



Here's a good picture of the red-bellied woodpecker.
He hangs around all year.

And I noticed this little winter goldfinch is actually showing more yellow -

I guess spring is around the corner??

Hurray for Tuesday nights...

Don't call on Tuesdays now... we are busy watching American Idol and just might not be able to answer the phone!

Starting them young - she wasn't watching the television right now, but it was really funny - when the person that was going to audition began singing, she turned her head to the television to watch. And the worse they were, the longer she watched!!

Just had to post a few quick pictures from today; our youngest little grandchild in her Sunday dress; she sures looks adorable in her dress with matching bow in her hair!

And she just loves people, so fun to see her interact!

And this fella wasn't too sure at first about going snowmobiling but after his brother and sister did, he decided to give it a try.

However, he wasn't so sure once he was outside on the snowmobile - and once his Daddy turned it on he was SURE he did not want to go for a ride!
